Tree Trimming and Pruning
When pruning, we work with our clients to determine their true objectives and suggest sound arboricultural practices that will meet their goals without harming the trees. We will not top trees, which is harmful to their health, and we will never use spikes/spurs to prune any tree.
Tree Removal
We are passionate about trees, and prefer to provide services that promote healthy trees, however even we recognize that sometimes the best course of action is removal. Tree removal can be extremely technical involving tremendous physical forces. We have the skills and experience to predict and mitigate against risks and get the tree down safely.
Emerald Ash Borer Treatment
Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) was confirmed in Cerro Gordo county in July of 2020 and is an ferociously effective ash tree killer. This wood boring beetle works its way into the tree and once inside it feeds on the trees vascular system disrupting the movement of nutrients throughout the tree from trunk to canopy. Once infected, most ash trees die within 2-4 years. Once confirmed in an area it is imperative to start the trunk injection process immediately to give the tree means to fight back the beetle. K&C uses the strongest and most successful restricted-use pesticide available that has a 99-100% kill rate for adult ash borers and larvae.
Bur Oak Blight
Bur oak blight is becoming a regular site amongst north Iowa’s bur oaks and we have the experience to identify, diagnose, and treat for it. Bur oaks are some of the most plentiful and beautiful trees in our area and we are passionate about keeping it that way. There have been some very successful fungicides developed in recent years that are administered via trunk injection that will help your bur oak win the battle against this debilitating and unsightly fungal infection.
Stump Grinding
